Biography

Matthew S. Delaney was most recently the Vice President (“Development Manager”) for the Royal Lahaina Development Group, LLC (“RLDG”), spearheading the master plan for the new mixed-used Kaanapali resort consisting of a new 333-room hotel tower and 126 new luxury Residential Villas, along with new restaurants, spa, gym, general store, parking structure, lobby, water features and all new infrastructure. This master plan consists of a $380 million redevelopment. Mr. Delaney was responsible for completing the first phase which included a $33 million refurbishment to the current Royal Lahaina hotel tower from a moderate to 5-star property. Mr. Delaney managed the entire development process including financing efforts, managing the design and development team, entitlements, subdivisions, sales and marketing activities, construction management, budgets, project financial statements and reporting to ownership, board presentations, liaison with hotel operations, existing resort associates, neighbor relations, and community relations.

Education

Matt received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship from University of Southern California.

Organizations

Matt has served as the Chairman of Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association, on the Board of Trustees at Queen Emma Land Company, and on the Board of Advisors at Hawaii Pacific University Travel Industry Management. Mr. Delaney also sits on the board of directors for Special Olympics Hawaii as well serving as a member of the Finance and Admissions & Membership Committees at Outrigger Canoe Club. He held a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (inactive) from State of California.
